Alberta Parker Collins, age 84 of Broadway, died Thursday (4/16/2015) at Liberty Commons in Sanford. She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Lonnie Cleveland Parker and Sinah Earnshaw Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Anthony Paul Collins. She was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday at the Broadway Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Pittman and Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, John S. Collins of the home; Son James Cleveland Collins and wife Linda of Broadway, NC; Daughter Vivian Denease Clark and husband Gerald of Broadway, NC; Sisters Naomi Johnson, Ruth Dorman and Myrtice West and husband Gene all of Erwin, NC and brother Charles C. Parker and wife Linda of Knightdale, NC; Four grandchildren, James Michael Collins and wife Kristy, Charity Collins McIlvain and husband Aron, John Matthew Clark and Crystal Clark Weldon and husband Chris; five great-grandchildren Christopher Clark, Autumn Clark, Donovan McIlvain, Madison Weldon and Lydia Weldon; Brother in Law, Royce Collins and wife Marie. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
