Alexis Marie Stone, age 26 of Sanford, died Sunday (10/10/2021).  She was born in Lee County on June 11, 1995, daughter of Joyce Thomas and Samuel Stone.  Alexis was an employee at Caterpillar. She had a heart of gold and loved her family, friends and the outdoors.  She didn't know a stranger and her smile lit up the room.  Funeral services will be conducted at 4pm Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Smith Funeral Home.  Surviving is her mother, Joyce Thomas (Adam Johnson) of Sanford, NC.  Father, Samuel Stone of Sanford, NC.  Sisters, Chelsea Coates (Joey) and Alicia Johnson of Sanford, NC.  Brothers, Mark Patterson (Kayla Knight), Henry Stone, Nick Johnson and Sam Stone of Sanford, NC.  Niece, Lillian Coates, Nephews, Abel Knight and Lucas Coates.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
