Allen Edward Whitted, age 58 of Lillington, died Wednesday (5/7/2014) at the Durham VA Medical Center. He was born in Texas, son of the late Emerson Earl Whitted and Elizabeth Darden Whitted. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00pm Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Ippolito officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with military honors. Surviving are his wife Dorothy Whitted of Lillington, NC; Son Stacey Allen Whitted of Lillington, NC; Sister Nadine Whitted of Brooklyn, NY; Brothers Shane Whitted of Brooklyn, NY and Cecil Whitted of Harlem, NY; Granddaughter Zoe Sophia Whitted. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm, one hour prior to the funeral service at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
