Alma Mary Sue Thomas Jackson, age 75 of Sanford, passed away on Sunday (8/7/2022) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Inez Wicker Thomas Newby.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Milton C. Thomas and James Lee Thomas, Step-father Ed Newby and her first husband Gene Wicker.  Mary Sue loved to travel go to the beach, spending time with her family and loved animals.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday at Tramway Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Peterson and Rev. Joel Murr officiating.  A private family burial will be held at a later date at Hillmon Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.    Surviving is her husband, Thomas Horace Jackson of the home.  Son, Kevin Jackson (Amber) of Sanford, NC.   Grandsons, Lukas Jackson and Cameron Palmer and several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the memorial service.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
