Betty Patterson Johnson, age 79, of Broadway, died Saturday (10/29/2016) at her home. She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Willie John Patterson and Esther Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Catherine Gaster, Frances Johnson, and Josie Patterson, brother Billy Patterson, husband Lacy Johnson and her son Bert Johnson. She was a member of the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Betty was known by for her delicious biscuits she made each morning for many years at the Road Runner Café thus sharing her love of cooking with the Broadway Community. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday at the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is her daughter Shelia McDonald and husband Terry of Lillington, NC. grandchildren Brian McDonald of Lancaster, PA, Kimberly McDonald of Broadway, NC, Adam Johnson of Charlotte , NC and Brandon Johnson of Hartsville, SC and great grandchildren Nora and Amelie. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Mt.
