Betty McKelvie McNeill, age 94 of Sanford, died Sunday (9/26/2021) at her home.  She was born on February 13, 1927, daughter of the late George McKelvie and Erma Clark McKelvie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene McNeill Sr. and her daughter Carolyn Campbell.  She was beautiful, humble and kind — and the McNeill family is so glad she was ours. She remembered all of our birthdays (and if you know our family, you know that's a lot) and encouraged all our hopes and dreams. She was witty and smart and made the BEST chocolate pies. Thank you, Grandma Betty, for being an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. We are so sad but we know she is celebrating with Jesus. We love you, Betty Mac. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike Oldham, Daniel McNeill and Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Surviving is her son, Gene McNeill Jr. of Broadway, NC.  Daughters, Patricia "Pat" Buchanan and husband Charles of Sanford, NC, Kay Thomas and husband Ronnie of Broadway, NC and Cheryl Oldham and husband Mike of Sanford, NC.  Sister, Evelyn Willets of Dallas, Ga, fourteen grandchildren, twenty- eight great grandchildren and her special friend, Essie Norton of Broadway, NC.
