Billy Ray Womack, age 81 of Sanford, died Wednesday (12/6/2017) at his home. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Willis Mack Womack and Mattie Mae Matthews Womack. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Claude Ray Womack and grandson Austin Womack. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 7:30pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. He is survived by his daughters Deborah Beal of Sanford and Pamela Oldham and husband James of Siler City, NC. Sons, Billy Ray " Peanut" Womack Jr. and Jeffrey Womack both of Sanford, NC. Sisters, Jean Cummings of Broadway, Faye Thomas, and Frances Williams both of Sanford, NC. Brothers, Richard Womack and Junior Womack of Broadway and Jack Womack of Sanford, NC; Eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Saturday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
