Brenda Joyce Johnson, age 64 of Sanford, died Thursday (1/19/2017) at Liberty Commons. She was retired from Pentair Products and was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James "Red" Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Tuesday, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Hewitt Collar officiating. Burial will follow in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Surviving is her mother, Belle Aiken Lavin of Massachusetts. Daughters, Jennifer Boyd (Joseph Frank Boyd) of Cameron, NC, Jessica Spence (James Spence) of Frisco, Texas and Joanna Castonguay (John Pittman) of Georgia. Sons, Jason Castonguay (Tiffany Castonguay) of Sanford, NC and Justin Castonguay (Michelle Castonguay) of Cameron, NC. Brothers Lou Levesque, Joseph Levesque, Randy Levesque and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10-11am Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
