Brodie Wendell "Peanut" Parker Sr. age 73 of Sanford, died Wednesday (7/23/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Johnston County, son of the late Brody Parker and Medie Knowles Parker. He was a graduate of Meadow High School, was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Allied Fibers. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday at the Broadway Town Cemetery with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Surviving are his son Brodie W. "Bud" Parker Jr. and wife Brenda; Sisters Doris Williford, Magdalene Gillispie, and Brenda Goldston; Brothers Erby Parker, Kirby Parker, Sam Parker, Dan Parker and Donnie Parker. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
