Carlton Mack Morrison, age 74 of Moncure, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Lee County, to Daniel Tracy and Pauline Cox Morrison who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brother Toby Morrison. Mack was self-employed in the construction industry for many years and was a graduate of Moncure High School, Class of 1961. He was known as the "unofficial, official Mayor of Moncure." Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday at the Haywood Independent Bible Church Cemetery with Rev. David Priddy officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the graveside service. Surviving are his sons, Carlton Morrison Jr., and wife Deena of Durham, NC and Tracy Morrison and wife Kelly of Creedmoor, NC. Two sisters, Gail M. Thomas and husband Halford Thomas and Jennie Arnold and husband Wesley Arnold all of Broadway, NC. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Paige Morrison of Creedmoor who was very special to him and his two step-grandchildren, Olivia and Kyle Taylor. He will also be missed by his several nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
