Carole Lee Swiggard, age 79 of Sanford, died Wednesday (1/29/2014) at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of the late Clark Eugene McGinnis and Myrtle Palmer McGinnis. Memorial service will be conducted at 7:00pm Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sanford with Bishop Stephen Athens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm, one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Surviving are her daughter Terri Rodriguez and husband Agustin of Sanford, NC; Sons Harry Francis Swiggard and Scott Brian Swiggard and wife Karen of Houston, TX; Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alzfdn.org/contributetoAFA/makeadonation.html. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
