Carolina Justiniani Kirby passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at age 70. Born in Bohal, Philippines in 1946. Hometown Davao, Philippines. Survived by sister Gloria, 2 sons Pericles and Catalina, Philippines, and husband, Graham Wakefield Kirby, Sanford, NC. From an early age, Carolina sought knowledge wherever she could find it. A young mother of 2 sons in hometown Davao, Philippines, she opened her door to 2 young missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints who taught her the gospel of Jesus Christ. She accepted it with great enthusiasm! After baptism, she served in the church Primary Organization. She grew to love the small children and they in turn idolized her! Her thirst for knowledge continued as she became a college graduate of the University of the Philippines. Her unquenchable thirst for gospel knowledge and love of the Savior, Jesus Christ, also increased as she attended Institute classes of the church and graduated twice from the program. Carolina's scriptures were never closed. Every morning she read the scriptures for 3 hours, never wanting to be disturbed until she was finished. She was a devoted daughter of God. Carolina was sealed to her eternal companion, Graham Wakefield Kirby, on December 15, 2006 in the Raleigh Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They enjoyed 10 wonderful years together including serving a mission in the St. George, Utah Temple.
