Carolyn Sloan Hallman, age 61 of Broadway, died Monday (1/28/2013) at her home. She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Fred Sloan and Mary Ida Gardner Sloan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sandra Brown, Siblings James Sloan, Roy Sloan, Jimmy Sloan, Leslie Sloan and grandson Brandon Hill. She was retired from W. Koury Company. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pearl Castleberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving are her daughter Tonya M. Brown of Lillington, NC; Son Brian Hallman of Broadway, NC; Sisters Ruby Griffin of Broadway, NC and Bearnise Elfritz of Lillington, NC; Brothers Bernice Sloan of Sanford, NC and Tony Sloan of Broadway, NC; Grandchildren Brittany Brown, Danielle Antlitz, Brooke Brown, Kevin Copelin Jr., Joshua Brown, Gabby Maldonado, Yana Maldonado and great grandchildren Alisandra Brown and Lyliana Tejas; and special niece Brenda Griffin. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Ruby Griffin, 9615 Old US 421 Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
