Carolyn Collins Jackson, age 88 of Apex, passed away on Saturday (11/9/2024) at her home. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Alex Ander Collins and Harriet O'Quinn Collins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dorsey Jackson, and several brothers and sisters.  Carolyn was a 70-year member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the women's missionary union and served as a deacon.  She enjoyed playing the piano, and retired from Almay where she was a bookkeeper with over 20 years of service.  Surviving is her daughter, Linda Phillips and husband Roland of Chesterfield, VA; son, Robert Scott and wife Julie Patten Scott of Centerville, MO.  Sister, Helen Gooch of Cary, NC; special friend, Paul Cartrette of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Scott, Michelle Scott, Allison Bell, John Phillips and four great-grandchildren.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday (11/13/2024) at 11am at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 6636 Good Hope Church Rd., Cary, NC 27519.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com  Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, Broadway Inc.
