Carolyn Dawn Yates, age 77 of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday (12/31/2019) at the First Health Hospice Center in Pinehurst.  She was born on June 27, 1942, daughter of the late Wilbur Rhue and Gladys Willis Rhue.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joyce Vinston.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday (1/4/2020) at 2pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Daryl Wood officiating.   Surviving are her husband John William Yates of the home.  Daughter Jennifer Rouse, son Bobby Rhue and grandchildren Kayla Rouse and Dylan Rouse.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1-2pm.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
