Charles Edmond "Bud" Bodenhamer Jr., age 73 of Stella, formerly of Broadway, NC, died Saturday (10/26/2013) at his home. He was born on July 23, 1940 in Stokes County, son of the late Charles Edmond Bodenhamer and Myrtle Edwards Bodenhamer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Dorothy Wilson Bodenhamer, Daughters Elizabeth Bodenhamer and Renee B. Hammonds; and his brother Junior Bodenhamer. He was retired from the Wayne County School System. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife Janice Jones Bodenhamer; Daughters Ashley B. Hostinsky and husband Adam of Stella and Casey Leigh Bodenhamer of Stella, NC; Sister Maerene Thomas of Broadway, NC and Brother Mack Bodenhamer of Sanford, NC; Four grandchildren Madison Schroeder, Paige Hammonds, Dawn Hammonds and Keegan Neri. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Monday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
