Charles Sanderford age 87 of Moncure, NC passed away on Saturday June 13, 2026.    Charles was born May 9, 1939 in Garner, NC.  Charles spent his career as a truck driver, and was a member of the teamster union.  He received awards for many years of safe driving.    In his free time he enjoyed fishing at Kerr Lake, hunting, and watching Nascar racing.  Surviving is his wife of 53 years , Barbara Webster Sanderford; and his daughters Amanda Sanderford and Alicia Thompson (Scott), as well as one granddaughter, Samantha Thompson.  He is also survived by his siblings Patsy Yates, Mary Lou Duke (Linwood), Bobby Sanderford (Judy), Joel Sanderford Jr. (Helen); sisters-in-law, Aileen Webster, Brenda Webster,  Barbara Sanderford and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was  preceded in death by his father, Joel Sanderford, mother, Magdalene Ray Sanderford, brother, Billy Sanderford, sister,  Ann Williams (Tommy)  and infant sister, Betty Jo Sanderford and brother-in-law, Robert Webster.   The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 16 from 5-7pm at Smith Funeral Home, 201 First Street Broadway, NC.   A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 11am at New Elam Christian Church Cemetery, 3290 Pea Ridge Rd, New Hill, NC 27562 with Rev.
