Charles Richard Smith, age 48 of Moncure, passed away on Wednesday (7/1/2020) at the UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro.  He was born in Lee County, son of John Charles Smith and Rosie Brown Smith.  Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.  Surviving are his parents John Charles Smith and Rosie Brown Smith of Moncure, NC.  Son, John Smith of Sanford, NC.  Daughter, Amanda Smith of Sanford, NC.  Step-children Danielle Sherrill of Cameron, NC and Jeanna Sherill of Gastonia, NC.  Sisters, Cheryl Smith Sanchez of Cameron, NC and Tess Bogue of Carolina Beach, NC.  Brothers Tony Smith of Washington, DC and Chris Smith of Deep River.
