Clara Joyce Patterson, age 75 of Sanford died Monday (6/18/2018) at her home. She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Laurie Watson Patterson and Lucille Brown Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Teresa Patterson. Joyce loved to visit the shut in's, people in assisted living and rest homes and had a gift for caring for the elderly. She also loved her animals but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving is her son Kevin N. Thomas and wife Jennifer of Broadway, NC. Daughter Lauri Thomas Boisvert of Lillington, NC, Sister Linda Rosser and husband Clayton of Broadway, NC and grandchildren Jacob Denkins, Kaleb Denkins, Alex Thomas, Kaytie Thomas and Larsen Thomas. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Kevin and Jennifer Thomas.
