Clara Elizabeth Ashworth Wagner, age 87, of Mamers, died Saturday (12/10/2011) at the E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. She was born on August 24, 1924 , daughter of the late Lattis Ashworth and Mamie Baker Ashworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Issac Wagner; Son Wayne Wagner, granddaughter Jody Wagner and sister Margie Baker. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Gary Buffkin and Dr. Harold Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Fuuay Varina, NC. Surviving are her daughters Elizabeth Brown of Broadway, NC and Ruby McKinney and husband James H. McKinney of Broadway, NC; Sons Billy Joe Wagner of Mamers, NC, Claude Wagner and wife Judy of Sanford, NC and Roy Wagner and wife Sue of Mamers, NC; Eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Roy and Sue Wagner, 86 Mamers Road, Mamers, NC. Arrangments are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
