Cornelius Benton McNeill, age 93 of Broadway, died Friday (2/27/2015) at his home. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late John S. McNeill and Annie Lee Thomas McNeill. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Beulah Mae McNeill, his second wife, Beulah Thomas McNeill, daughter Judy Patterson Wood, Son in law Tommy Patterson and brother Wilbur McNeill. He was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church where he served for many years as a Deacon and on the building and grounds committee. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Monday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his daughter Glenda Womack and husband Sammy of Broadway, NC; Son Jimmy McNeill of Sanford, NC; Step- children Karen T. Thomas of Broadway, NC, Jinger T. Gibson (Bill) of Sanford, NC, Stewart E. Thomas (Penny) of Sanford, NC, Donald Ray Thomas (Hazel) of Greensboro, NC, Ricky D. Thomas of Little River, SC and Danny L. Thomas of Sanford, NC; Sister in law Virginia McNeill of Kennewick, WA; Four grandchildren, Cindy McNeill Delgado, Scott McNeill, Tammy Patterson and Randy Patterson and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
