Coy Lee Haywood, age 82 of Sanford, passed away on Sunday (9/4/2022) at his home.  He was born in Montgomery County, son of the late Barnie Lee Haywood and Pauline Livingston Haywood.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Hnguza and brother, Gene Haywood.  Coy worked forty years as a butcher and enjoyed traveling, yard work and spending time with his family.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at Crossroads Ministries in Broadway.  Surviving is his wife, Nancy Stewart Haywood of the home.  Daughter, Heather Haywood (James) of Sanford, NC.  Bonus children, Mike Brown (Lisa) of Anderson Creek, NC, Deborah Holder (James) of Broadway, NC and Connie Craig of Sanford, NC.  Sister, Sybil Helms of Concord, NC, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
