Damon Gray Dickens, Jr. age 62 of Sanford, died Tuesday (4/27/2021) at the First Health Hospice Center.  He was born in Lee County on May 14, 1958, son of the late Damon Gray Dickens and Euna Belle Williams Dickens.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew Damon Harris.  "Gray" loved to fish, play the guitar and listening to country music.  He retired from Coty after 26 years of service.  Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Dean McInnis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.  Surviving is his wife, Dale Mason Dickens of the home.  Sons, Brandon Dickens and Jonathan Dickens of Sanford, NC.  Step-son, Adam Cameron of New Bern, NC.  Sister, Susan Dickens Griffin of Supply, NC.  Grand-daughters, Charlotte Dickens and Alice Dickens, step-grandson, Abel Cameron, niece, Ashley Harris and nephew, Lynn Harris.  Friends may visit the Smith Funeral Home on Friday between the hours of 1pm-5pm to sign the register.  In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are requested for the services.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
