Daniel Edward Davidson, age 71 of Broadway, died Thursday (10/8/2015) at his home. He was born in Tazewell County, Virginia, son of the late Jess Edward Davidson and Viola Brooks Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Stella Melvin. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a truck driver for over 40 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30pm Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00pm at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Ventura Davidson of the home; Sons Daniel Davidson Jr. and wife Kerry, Frederick Davidson and wife Lisa, Christopher Davidson and wife Michelle and Jesse Davidson and wife Ryan all of Sanford, NC; Sister Cheri May and husband Duane of Woodstock, VA; Brother Oliver Davidson of Woodstock, VA and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30pm, one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home.
