Daniel Tillman McPhail, age 72 of Mamers passed away at home surrounded by family. Tillman was a family man who felt that his family was his world. He served his country in the Air Force. He was a hardworking man who owned businesses at various times during his life as well as being a truck driver. He loved to play Santa Claus at local grocery stores. Another great pleasure was the grounds at his home. He spent countless hours in his yard and at the Koi pond. A mass will be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy O'Neill McPhail; two daughters Angela Marie McPhail of Morehead City, NC and Joy Lyn O'Brien and her husband Jason O'Brien of Mamers. He has four grandchildren, Charles Daniel Mauney, Samantha Lee Morris, Delane Elizabeth O'Brien and Rebecca Lyn O'Brien. Two sisters Jenny McPhail Allen and Cathy McPhail Collins, numerous nephews and nieces and numerous great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his Mother Berlena McPhail as well as a brother William McPhail. The family would like to express their appreciation to Liberty Hospice for the care that he received. We would also like to express a special thank you to Regina Ray for the care that she gave him during his illness and her willingness to selflessly care for him. She always smiled and made him feel better during his illness and her willingness to take him outside so he could enjoy his beloved koi pond.
