Daniel Joseph Swistak, age 69 of Sanford, passed away on Saturday (11/2/2024) at his home.  He was born on June 26, 1955, son of the late Joseph James Swistak and Ruth Joan Wise Swistak, who preceded him in death.  Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army, and a true American patriot.  He retired from 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) after 21 years of service to our country.  He loved to go hunting in Canada every year, taking his wife to Disney World and spending time with his family that meant so much to him.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, (11/11/2024) at 12 noon at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Lt. Col. Steve Paschall officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.   Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Michelle Swistak of the home; Daughter, Nicole Traci Philpotts (Robert) of Sanford, NC; son, Brandon Jeremiah Swistak (Crystal) of Trinity, NC; brother, David Swistak of Maine; grandchildren, Katelyn, Laneisha, Lenneth, Jordan, Mark, Kayla and great-grandchildren, Kristin and Sophia.
