Danny Robert Morris, age 73 of Sanford, passed away on Saturday (8/2/2025) at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. He was born on April 24, 1952, son of the late Robert Louis Morris and Mamie Lee O'Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kathy Harris Morris, his daughter, Patricia Kim Morris and his sister, Shirley Morris Smith. Danny was a man of Faith and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, where he loved to attend services. He also loved all sports especially going to the Carolina Hurricanes games. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his son, John Morris (Sue) of Broadway, NC; daughter, Tammy Lynn Hatton (Jay) of New Mexico; step-children, Kenneth Horner (Jackie) and Angela Goryl; brother, Jimmy Morris of Sanford, NC; sisters, Cathy Page (Danny) of Sanford, NC, Peggy England (Neal) of Broadway, NC and Lisa Holt (Dave) of Broadway, NC; grandchildren, Hannah Morris, Madison Morris, Sidney Morris, Patricia Overton, John Alec Darroch, Sherry Darroch and Jorgia Hatton. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on Saturday (08/09/2025) at Southside Baptist Church in Broadway. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 12pm with Rev. John McVay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Special thanks to his brother-in-law Dave Holt for being there for him during his many appointments at Duke.
