David Lee Touvell, age 77 of Sanford, died Thursday (7/18/2013) at his home. He was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, son of the late Byron Touvell and Dorothy Secrest Touvell. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, served several years in the National Guard and was a construction superintendent for many years. Surviving are his wife of 54 years Pauline Gray Touvell of the home; Daughter Linda T. McNeill (Ronald) of Sanford, NC; Sons David Lee Touvell Jr. (Lisa) of Kernersville, NC and Ronald Allen Touvell (Terry) of Graham, NC; Sisters Elaine T. Tucker of Lore City, Ohio and Debra Honeywell of West Jefferson, NC; Grandchildren Ian McNeill, Sarah McNeill, Laura Lauricella (Kyle) and great granddaughter Liliana. There will be no services held per his request but the family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to Hospice of Harnett County, 111A North Ellis Avenue Dunn, NC 28334 or to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
