Dillion Steve Yarborough, age 69 of Sanford, died Monday (01/09/2017) at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Malcom James Yarborough and Anna O'Quinn Yarborough. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dillion Steve Yarborough Jr.; Brothers and sisters, Neal Yarborough, Willa Holder, Ruth Cox, Malcom Yarborough, Maggie Bell Coats, Hester McKay, Hassie Yarborough, Frances Venable, Archie Yarborough and Edgeton Yarborough. Steve was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired from GKN Automotive after 30 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 2pm at the Hillmon Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Norris and Rev. Wayne O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is his wife Cathie Yarborough of the home. Step-children Candi Wagner of Sanford, NC and Chad Wagner of Sissionville, West Virginia. Sister Carolyn Dull and husband Junior of Cameron, NC and brother John Yarborough of Sanford, NC; Six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the Hillmon Grove Baptist Church and other times at the family home.
