Dora Mae Strickland Thomas, age 86 of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday April 12, 2023 at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst. She was born March 14, 1937 daughter of Hurbert Neal Strickland and Alva Laylon Mills Strickland.  She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Terry Goodwin. Sisters, Katie Lee Strickland, Ardell Alvah Strickland Hendricks, brothers, Melvin Bandon Strickland and Johnnie Tyree Strickland. She is survived by her sons Larry Goodwin (Jennifer) of Broadway and Danny Goodwin (Sandra) of Sanford. Also surviving are her two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Friday April 14, 2023 at Haywood Bible Church with Rev. Terry Plesants and Rev. Mike Oldham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
