Doris Brown Leslie, age 84 of Broadway, passed away on Friday (1/22/2021) at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Robert Lee Brown and Malynda Olive Thomas Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Peggy Matthews and Frances Sloan, an infant son and her son, Vernon Gray Leslie Jr. Doris was a member of Leaflet Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Boone Trail Auxiliary. She worked at Peggy's Seafood, Eagle Electric and for many years at Howard's BBQ in Lillington. Doris had a great passion for others and she loved to cook. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday at the Leaflet Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. David Priddy officiating. Surviving is her daughter Frances Jackson and husband Mike of Broadway, NC. Son, Richard Leslie and wife Heather of Broadway, NC. Grandson, Caleb Quinn Leslie and his girlfriend, Avery Garris. Special friend and angel, Brailynn Faulk. Special caregivers, Cindy Stanley and Loretta Worrells, several nieces and nephews and her grand-dogs, Buster and Deuce. Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday to sign the register between the hours of 3-5pm. Memorial gifts can be made to the Boone Trail Auxiliary, c/o Shirley Bullard, 2370 Adcock Road, Lillington, NC 27546.
