Dorothy Jane Jacobs Jackson, age 77 of Sanford, died Thursday (5/16/2019) at the Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro.  She was born on June 16, 1941, daughter of the late Robert Glenn Jacobs and Esther Mattoon Jacobs.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verne Wilford Jackson Sr., son Clifford D. Jackson and granddaughter Amy Jean Jackson.   A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday (5/21/2019) at the Flat Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Gary McCollough officiating.  The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the Church.  Surviving is her daughter Cynthia Heida and husband Robert of Hartley, Iowa.  Sons,  Jesse Jackson and wife Shalonda of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Kevin Jackson and wife Tammy of Sanford, NC, Robert Jackson of Hillsborough, NC and Verne Jackson and wife Linda of Tarboro, NC.  Sisters Darlene Hoffman of Sanford, NC, Roberta Graham of Apopka, Fla and Alice LaMothe of Ovideo, Fla.;   Twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the  American Cancer Society of North Carolina.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
