Dorothy Sawyer Stewart, age 80 of Broadway, died Monday (11/20/2017) at her home. She was born in Johnston County, daughter of the late Lorman William Sawyer and Beatrice Brown Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers J.W., Robert and Lynwood Sawyer. Sister Peggy Sawyer Coats and her husband, Charles Stewart. She as a member of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church and was a retired educator from Lee County Schools. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday at the Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jerome Smith officiating. Surviving is her son, Donald Stewart of Broadway, NC. Daughters, Susan Stewart Rhodes of Lillington, NC and Sarah Stewart of Sanford, NC. Sister Linda Holland of Lillington, NC and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2pm, one hour prior to the memorial service at the Spring Hill United Methodist Church.
