Dorothy Patterson Thomas, age 94 of Broadway, passed away on Thursday (5/28/2020) at Parkview Retirement Center in Sanford.  She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Sherad Wesley Patterson and Mae Priscilla Gilchrist Patterson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. Floyd Thomas,  her son, Tommy Thomas, granddaughter Kimberly Renee Thomas and  siblings Troy Patterson, Hildreth Dull, Verla Parsons, Alberta Dull and Bea Wilkie.  Dorothy was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and worked for Dupont during World War II.  She was an excellent seamstress and shared her sewing talents with many in the Broadway Community.  She had a beautiful smile and was a dear friend to all.  Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday (5/31/2020) at 3:00 pm at the Broadway Town Cemetery with Rev. Tom Lee and Dr. Larry Pittman officiating.  Surviving is her daughter Susan T. Thomas and husband David of Broadway, NC.  Sons, Ronnie Thomas and wife Kay and Steve Thomas of Broadway, NC.  Daughter- in- law Judy D. Thomas of Sanford, NC.  Grandchildren,  Ron Thomas, Wes Thomas, Chad Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Mary Ashlyn Thomas and Caleigh Thomas.  Step-grandson Andy Holland, five great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, and three step great-great-grandchildren.  Friends and family can come to the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm-5:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am-2:00pm to pay their respects and sign the register.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
