Eddie C. Peace, age 69 of Broadway, died Saturday (11/01/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Spartanburg, SC, son of the late James Cleveland Peace and Margaret Elledge Peace. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his twin brother Freddie Peace. He was a member of the Juniper Springs Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir and the Baptist Men. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was also a member of the DAV, American Legion, the VFW and the Seven Seas Club. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 11am at the Juniper Springs Baptist Church with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Surviving is his wife Verna Culbreth Peace of the home and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Sister Linda Hospodor and husband Andy of Cortland, Ohio and his brother Donald Peace and wife Becky of Newton Falls, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10-11am Wednesday, one hour prior to the memorial service at the Juniper Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations are made to the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505 to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
