Edward Lee Heath, age 75 of Sanford, died Wednesday (12/25/2013) at his home. He was born on February 8, 1938 in Farmville, NC, son of the late Edward David Heath and Pennie Vick Heath. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Verna Stocks and Adelle Hampton and brother James Heath. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday at the Salem Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Dudley officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Shirley Huff Heath of the home; Step-children Valerie Broadway of Siler City, NC and Charles Broadway of Pittsboro, NC; Grandchildren Amanda Clark and Chay Broadway. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 1-2pm Saturday at the Salem Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Salem Presbyterian Church, 3554 Avents Ferry Road Sanford, NC 27330 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive Sanford, NC 27330. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
