Eleanor Rosser Holt, age 87 of Broadway, died Monday (8/31/2015) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Sion Hubert Rosser and Mattie Gaster Rosser. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother J. Fletcher Rosser, Daughter Martha Jo Holt Windham and son Rufus David Holt. She was a graduate of the Rex School of Nursing and did specialized obstetrics training at John Hopkins. She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church and was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of the Broadway Woman's Club. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday morning at the Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael McVey and Bishop Hope Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. Surviving is her husband of 62 years, John R. Holt of the home; Daughter Mary Ann Holt of Broadway, NC; son John Rosser Holt and wife Judy of Monroe, GA and one grandson, Michael Holt and his wife Catie. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
