Eunice Thomas Bogan, age 88 of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Harnett County on March 13, 1926 to Carlie H. and Susie Holt Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Richard Bogan, five brothers Robert Lee Thomas, Nelson Thomas, Curtis Thomas, Preddy Thomas and Mack Thomas, a sister Clara Lee Thomas Holt, also a great granddaughter Annie Elizabeth Bogan and a very dear friend, Pat Pattishall. Mama worked at Federal Spinning, Moen, as a housewife, farmers wife and loved to garden. Her many attributes included writing poetry, avid reader, crossword puzzles, beach lover and dancing at the Enrichment Center. She was a longtime member of the Juniper Springs Baptist Church, having served as a Sunday School Teacher and a choir member. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and son, Cheryl W. LaJeunesse and husband Rob, Tommy Bogan and wife Phyllis, Deborah Garrison and husband Robert, Kathy Stackpole and husband Andy, daughter-in-law Karen Bogan; Grandchildren, James Wilkins and wife Jennifer, Jason Wilkins, Carol Jenson, Ken Bogan, David Bogan, Robbie Bogan and wife Annie, Linda Bogan, Katie Bogan, Sarah Bogan, Zeb Stackpole and wife Sherry, Devin Vanfaussien and husband John, Haley Thomas and husband Charles; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Juniper Springs Baptist Church, visitation from 4:30 to 5:45 pm, service at 6:00pm with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Interment will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music ministry at Juniper Springs Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert McConville,Hospice and the staff of Westfield Rehab for their dedication to the care of our mother. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
