Everette Smith. Jr. age 58 of Sanford died Monday (12/01/2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Scotland County, son of Everette Smith Sr. and the late Clara Bell Chavis Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother Billy Ray Smith. Memorial service will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Surviving are his father, Everette Smith Sr. of Cameron, NC; wife Cathy S. Smith of the home; Sons Nick Smith (Elizabeth O'Quinn), Steven Smith, and Marcus Smith (Cathy Schalk) all of Sanford, NC; Sisters Delois McGehee (John Ed) of Cameron, NC and Alice Smith Thomas (Johnny) of Sanford, NC; Brother Jackie Smith (Sherry) of Olivia, NC and three grandchildren, Hailey Elaine Smith, Scott Wayne Smith and Ashley Nicole Smith. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and other times at the home of Mr. Everette Smith Sr., 2718 Pilson Road Cameron, NC. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505 for funeral expenses.
