Gaynelle Hardy Cox, age 51 of Goldston, died Sunday (5/17/2015) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She was born in Chatham County, daughter of Dallas Hardy Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Martin Hardy. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Surviving is her father, Dallas Hardy Sr., of Goldston, NC; Daughter Crystal Cox of Rincon, Georgia; Son Roger Lee Cox of Savannah, GA; Sisters Mary McNeill and husband Jimmy of Broadway, NC, Elizabeth Ann Smith of Lexington, NC and Rita F. Hardy of Sanford, NC; Brother Dallas Hardy Jr., of Goldston, NC; Six grandchildren, Autumn Cox, Presley Cox, J.J. Cox, Chase Cox,Luke Cox, Clark Cox and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral home of Broadway.
