George Furman Magill, age 77 of Broadway passed away on Saturday (10/26/2024) at his home with his family by his side.  He was born in York County, South Carolina, son of the late Paul Moore Magill and Nancy Mary Moore Magill.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Magill Jr., grandson, Corey Magill and sister-in-law, Michelé Magill.  George was a Baptist Minister, serving five churches in a career spanning 25 years. He then worked for Homes by Vanderbuilt for fourteen years.  He loved to fish, play golf, and horses.  He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.    Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Sarah Towery Magill of the home; Daughters, Wendy Melton (Doug) and Nancy Patterson (T.J.) of Broadway, NC; sons, Tracy Magill (Tammy) of Lillington, NC and Paul Magill (Heather) of Sanford, NC.  Sister, Nancy Smith (Tim) of Cleveland, TN; brothers, James Magill (Barbara) of Cross Junction, VA and Jeff Magill of Morganton, NC.  Grandchildren, Courtnay Magill, Brook Magill, Michaela Magill Bardwell (Joe) John Michael Magill, Jordan Magill, Dylan Patterson (Caroline), Blake Patterson, Kaytlen Patterson, Emily Patterson, Zackery Hooper, and eight great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday (10/29/2024) at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday (10/30/2024) at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parsons and Rev.
