Gerald Wayne Brown, age 59 of Spring Lake, died Friday (6/24/2022) at his home.  He was born on March 10, 1963, son of Gail Laster Brown and the late James Elmer Brown.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Gerald was a veteran of the United States Army where he retired after twenty years of service.  Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am Thursday morning at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with military honors.  Surviving is his mother, Gail L. Brown of Perry, GA.  Daughter, Tiffany Lynn Zabel (Curtis) of Broadway, NC.  Son, Dustin Wayne Brown of Newport News, VA.  Sisters, Wanda B. White (Gary) of Perry, GA and Brenda B. Tressler of Warner Robins, GA.  Brother, Jimmy Brown of Bonaire, GA and grandchildren, William Zabel and Dalanie Zabel.   The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.
