Gladys Morris Forbes, age 94 of Pollocksville, formerly of Pinetops, died Tuesday (2/18/2014) at Brookstone Living Center in Pollocksville. She was born in Edgecombe County, daughter of the late Zeno Morris and Lena Manning Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Julius, Joseph, Luther, and Zeno Morris; Sister Louise Morris Lewis; and her husband Henry Forbes. She was a charter member of the Maccripine Free Will Baptist Church and worked for many years at the Soda Shop in Pinetops and the Red and White. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday at the Maccripine Free Will Baptist Church in Macclesfield with Rev. Don Holland officiating. Burial will be at the Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville. Surviving are her caregivers George and Margaret Collins of Maysville, NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway, NC.
