Gordon Ray Forrest, age 79 of Broadway, passed away on Saturday (12/7/2019) at Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro.  He was born in Ashland, KY, son of the late James Gordon Forrest and Carrie Mae Pennington Forrest.  He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and three grandchildren.  Gordon retired from Kentucky Electric Steel Company in Ashland, KY, loved attending Grace Baptist Church and lovingly caring for his family.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Darrell Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery.  Surviving is his wife Orvilla Jean Burch Forrest of the home.  Children Naoma McCosley (Mike) of Broadway, NC, Jeffrey Wayne Forrest (Venesa) of Stambaugh, KY, Sharon Rae Otto (Devere) of Mississippi and Kathryn Jean Kelley (Robert) of Martha, KY.  Brother Donald L.
