Halford "Perry" Thomas Jr., age 53 of Lillington, passed away on Wednesday (3/17/2021) at his home after a lengthy illness.  He was born on April 5, 1967 in Lee County, son of Halford Thomas and Patsy Carson.  He was preceded in death by his step-father, Bill Carson.  Perry was a graduate of Western Harnett High School. He had a love for life, love for driving 18 wheelers and loved his family.  He never met a stranger and was known for his quick wit and his joke telling.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2pm at Leaflet Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. David Priddy officiating.  Surviving is his father, Halford Thomas and wife Gail of Broadway, NC.   Mother, Patsy Carson of Erwin, NC.  Wife, Kirby Whitley Thomas of the home.  Daughter, Tailor Strickland of Holly Springs, NC.  Son, Halford Perry Thomas III of the home.  Step-son, Jesse Elgin of Newton Grove, NC.  Sisters, Dottie Womack and husband EJ of Lillington, NC, Millie Thomas of Broadway, NC, Ginger Harrington and David Sloan of Sanford, NC, and Mary Jo Toler of Erwin, NC.  Brother, Jason Carson and wife Christina of Greensboro, NC.  Step-siblings, Dwight Carson and wife Julie of Lillington, NC, Courtney May and husband Jerry of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Brian Gillis and wife Lisa of Broadway, NC.  Two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
