Harold Thomas Gilmore, age 73 of Sanford, died Sunday (1/3/2021) at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.  He was born in Lee County on August 10, 1947, son of the late James Gilmore and Marzell Thomas Blue.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Darlene Blue Bryant.  Harold loved to mow grass and work in the yard.  He loved people and was friendly and outgoing to all who knew him.  Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Saturday at Baptist Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Alex Smith officiating.  Surviving are his children Crystal Ussery and James Kelly, and his aunt, Margaret T. Jones.  The family will greet friends on Friday at the home of Margaret Jones, between the hours of 12pm-5pm.  Friends may also visit the funeral home on Friday between the hours of 12pm-5pm to sign the register.  Social distancing and mask are required for all services.  Online condolences can be made www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
