Harriet Dickens George, age 75 of Moncure, died Saturday (11/6/2021) at her home.  She was born on June 9, 1946, daughter of the late Royce B. Dickens and Sadie Denson Dickens.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Thomas George, and siblings, Betty Dickens McLean, Marie Dickens Wicker, Edd Dickens, and Henry Dickens.  Harriet was a graduate of Moncure High School, where she was an athlete playing basketball and softball.  She was a member of Christian Chapel Christian Church where she was the pianist for most of her life and also served as the church treasurer.  She retired from Honeywell after many years, starting when it was Allied Chemical.  She was a member of the Moncure Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and sharing a meal with family and friends.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11am Tuesday at Christian Chapel Christian Church with Rev. George Stallings and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Surviving is her son, Chris George and wife Carla of Moncure, NC.  Daughter, Angie George Harris and husband Ken of Moncure, NC.  Grandchildren Elizabeth Spivey and husband Kenneth, Christian George and wife Kayla, Gracie George, Abbie George, Ashley Harris, Gunnar Harris and Alizah Simpson, Alyssa Harris and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Christian Chapel Church Men, c/o 67 Dickens Rd.
