Jacob Dylan McNeill, age 20 of Sanford, died Saturday (11/18/2017). He was born on April 15, 1997, son of Todd Farrell McNeill and Tracy Stephens McNeill. Jacob was a 2015 graduate of Lee County High School and was a student at North Carolina State University where he was majoring in Business Management with a concentration in marketing. He worked at Broadway Hardware, Carolina Trace Golf Course and at Tobacco Road. He loved to play golf, fish, surf and skim board. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 2pm at the Moore Union Christian Church with Rev. David Yarborough officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Surviving are his parents, Todd and Tracy McNeill of the home. Brother, Gavin Stephens McNeill of the home. Paternal grandparents, Jimmy "Pete" and Carolyn McNeill of Broadway, NC and Maternal grandparents, William Bernard "Bill" Stephens Jr. and Pam Stephens of Sanford, NC. Maternal great grandmothers, Mildred Griffin Stephens and Francena Parker Cole both of Sanford, NC. Aunts and Uncles, William "Cole" and Lisa Stephens of Sanford, NC and Mark and Samantha McNeill of Winston Salem, NC. Girlfriend, Emily Kathryn Sherman and his two best friends, Nick Kent and Braxton Johnson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Moore Union Christian Church Fellowship Hall. The family request that you do not wear black to the service but to wear colors that represent life or NC State. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations are made to the Jacob McNeill Scholarship Fund, c/o Cole and Lisa Stephens, 4212 S. Plank Road, Sanford , NC 27330.
