James Clayton Rosser, age 86 of Broadway, passed away on Saturday (8/12/2023) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born on June 10, 1937, son of the late Hubert Gatling Rosser and Callie Catherine Patterson Rosser.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mattie Eunice Rosser Womack.   Clayton was a devoted member of Broadway Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.  He was a former Broadway Town Commissioner and served six years in the Army National Guard.     Clayton worked as a mechanical engineer for many years, but farming was his true love.  He worked with his family at R&W Farms in Broadway.  He loved spending time with his family and was a friend to everyone who knew him.  Surviving is his wife, Linda Patterson Rosser of the home.  Daughter, Sharon Rosser Hutchens and husband Avery of Sanford, NC. Grandsons, Matthew Clayton Hutchens and wife Madison and William Luke Hutchens of Sanford, NC.  Brother-in-law, Jimmy Womack of Broadway, NC; Nephews, James Womack and Ross Womack of Broadway, NC; niece, JeriAnn Womack of Broadway, and many extended family members.    The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Ashley Cummings and Rev.
