James Henry Crumpler Jr., age 78 of Fuquay Varina, died Monday (12/13/2021) at his home with his family by his side.  He was born on December 16, 1942, son of the late James Henry Crumpler Sr. and Mary Magdalene Quinn Crumpler.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary Denise Crumpler Baldwin and his son, John Scott Crumpler.  James was a Veteran of the United States Army, and served in Vietnam.  He was a member of the American Legion in Fuquay Varina.  Funeral service will be conducted at 1pm Friday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.  Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Nancy Hanson Crumpler of the home.  Daughters, Karren Crumpler Crawford and husband Dennis of Fuquay Varina, NC and Susan LeeAnn Smith of Clayton, NC.  Grandchildren, Raven Skylar Cosme (Noah), Darryl Jonathan Rumph (Chey Daniel),Sydney Crawford Yanek (Richard), Kayla Crawford Pleasants (Brandon), Christian Tennyson Crawford (Ann Marie), Casper Smith, Riley Faith Crawford, Emmylese Korin Smith and great-grandson, Reid Daniel Pleasants.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfuneralhomebroadway.com Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
